The Houston, TX Quilt Show with Dana Brooks

We finally have our pictures ready to share with you from the HUGE Quilt show that Dana Brooks (Owner of The Cuddle Cottage) attends every year. Join us now as we give you a quick run down of the Houston experience!

Getting packed up and ready to go. Dana's husband, Daryl, is always a big help to get the trailer loaded with everything needed.

With a theme of " The Shannon Cuddle Dude Ranch," Dana has got all her cowgirl gear ready to go, complete with matching badge holder.

A friendly welcome from the good ole state of Texas as Dana crosses state borders. It almost feels like a second home.

Driving through the tunnel in Dallas, TX. After a long drive, they are almost there, with a busy day ahead.

Dana's daughter, Rachelle, arrives on the scene to help her mom put together an amazing booth. Dana picks her her up late from the airport at midnight, only to get back to the hotel and discover that there are no more rooms available. Guess they will all be shacking up together and enjoying a delicious meal on the hotel floor. What a good sport!

It's time to start setting up the Dude Ranch. Let the blood, sweat, and tears begin to flow.

It's a good thing Dana's husband, Daryl, is around with the man power and power tools.

What a way to spend a birthday! Dana celebrates by being hard at work and seeing the amazing finishing product of everyone efforts.

You could probably call this Cuddle Heaven...ranch style!

Dana's daughter Rachelle is completely pooped out after a long day playing a huge power house role, hauling in load after load. The men were actually quite impressed. She may be small, be she is strong as an ox.

Experiencing the great outdoors without all the bugs and dirt.

All of these amazing Cuddle animals were created by Cuddle Specialist Gayle Camargo. She did such a wonderful job!

BAAAAA! what a cute little family of sheep.

It's finally time for a formal birthday celebration with the whole working crew. A well deserved night of enjoyment.

After being out of town for a week, Dana finally has to give in and head to the laundromat, and hang out with the locals.

Dana finally gets off her SORE feet, and snuggles up in her very own Cuddle blanket.

Happy Halloween! Dana doesn't let being out of town keep her from getting into the Halloween spirit. She celebrated by dressing as a witch by day......

 ....and Cruella DeVil by night.

Customers enjoy the booth during the hauntingly fun hours.

Dana may be missing her family, but they are sure to provide her with Halloween wishes and picture messages of the costumes back at home. (Dana's son, Brayden transformed beyond recognition into Tim Burton's Mad Hatter and his lovely Queen of Hearts...oh wait, that's me!)

Husband, Daryl sure has a way with the ladies. He is always quick to help them out and tell them ALL about the products.

Gabe Oliver from Beaumont, TX bought seventy-eight 10" Cuddle strips. Someone is going to be busy!

Dana recognized a friendly face. Dana sees Kathy here every year. She is an awesome lady.

Dana spent hours with....Dana. That's right! Dana Herbert and Dana Brooks. Two birds of a feather.

Going out with a BANG! On the first night of the drive back home, Dana and Daryl ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere and were stranded. They were so relieved when the rangers arrived to the rescue. Thank goodness for cell phones!

With literally NO more energy to spare, Dana is wiped out and ready to get home to her own bed.

Thanks for letting us share this marvelous experience and opportunity with you. It is always fun to look back on the highlights..and lowlights of the trip. All the hard work from this long adventure has definitely paid off! Tune in again on Thursday to see what The Cuddle Cottage will being you next!
Have a Cuddly Day!

Celebrating Another Birthday

Hi Everyone!

My Name is Kim Brooks, and I create the weekly blog posts for The Cuddle Cottage. I celebrated my 23rd birthday yesterday, so I though I would share a little bit about myself with you.

As you know, I am 23 years old. I live a happy life with my sweetheart, Brayden...

... our 5 year old son, Bentley...

...two dogs, and a rat.

I love my family more than anything in this world (chocolate is a close 2nd). They are is pride and joy and there is nothing I would rather do than spend time with them.
We are a family of athletes that were raised in sports. My favorite sport that I played is softball. Brayden is a big basketball player, and Bentley is getting into soccer right now. I coached Bentley's soccer team, The Zombies, with my big sister this year.

Usually I am the one making the birthday cakes in my family, but my sweet little boy did a fantastic job of decorating one for me this year.

This time of year is very special to me because Dana and I share such close birthdays, AND four days later we celebrate Halloween, which is probably my favorite holiday! I get crazy in the spirit of it all and always make our Halloween costumes.

I had a wonderful birthday surrounded by the ones that I love. I am so grateful for all that I have in my life and all the amazing people that are in it. Another year has come and gone, and I cannot wait to see all that will happen in the next year to come.
Thanks for taking a few minutes to get to know me a little better, and I hope that you are enjoying the blog posts that I have been providing for you from The Cuddle Cottage!

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

Warm Wishes,

Kim Brooks

P.S.
If you have any loved one with a birthday coming up, The Cuddle Cottage has all sorts of cute little gifts. You should definitely stop by!
